Canvas | Grade with the SpeedGrader (EN)
The SpeedGrader allows you to easily grade assignments or quizzes.
Information
Accessing the SpeedGrader
To access the SpeedGrader, open Assignments in the Canvas course menu.
Locate the respective assigment and click on the three dots (⁝) next to it. In the context menu open SpeedGrader.
Grading within the SpeedGrader
With in the document view you can directly annotate and navigate the submission.
On the top right you can flip through all student’s submissions.
Download the file in it’s original file type.
This button might not be visible if the side panel is too narrow. To solve this, please broaden the side panel by dragging the boarder between the document view and the editor.
Furthermore, the other download button on the very left side of the document’s navigation and annotation bar automatically converts the file into a PDF. If you want to retain the original file type, please use the button 5.
Enter points/percentage/grade.
Information regarding the submission status, eg. Late, Missing, Excused or None (default).
Add a feedback comment, file or recording to the assignment.
Don’t forget to save your feedback by clicking on Submit!
Rubrics in Canvas
Rubrics can be used as a transparent way of presenting the assessment criteria and to enable a quicker calculation of the number of points achieved. You can add rubrics to individual assignments and then use them for grading in the SpeedGrader. Details can be found here: https://community.canvaslms.com.
